What Customers Say About Junkyard:

Junkyard is a great rock band. I have had my Junkyard CD for about 20 years, and I still love to listen to them. One of my favorites. Don't miss out on this under-rated and rarely heard of band.

A crowd-favorite live. This self-titled release on Geffen Records came out in '89 and featured a dirty slice of Hollywood rock n' roll with some southern roots underlying the whole damn thing. But not without a fight. A great live band. The band had a bit of success with a couple of singles, got some airplay on the legendary Los Angeles radio station, KNAC, had some videos on Headbanger's Ball & were able to play the record out on the road. A great effort.

"Blooze" is a song about hard-core drinking. Maybe. "Hot Rod" is about the love of havin' a really fast car. "Simple Man" was a roots-rockin' ballad. Once again, a great band, that was signed in an effort to find the next Guns n' Roses, goes by the wayside. The subject matter is fantastic. And no one could quite string together a series of phrases like David Roach.

"Texas" was a song about Roach & Gates' home state. While "Hands Off" was all about a woman cheatin' on her man. I could go on & on but what's the point. A sure-fire debut disc. The lyrics are absolutely hilarious.

And "Hollywood" was about the band's East Hollywood surroundings. All ten tracks are great. Gates' riffs on his beloved Gretsch sound superb, Clay Anthony did a solid job holding down the bass & Roach prowled the stage live like a rapid dog. A great record that never quite broke through.

I remember back in the day finding this on cassette. That night will always stand out as a rare moment in time. There is nothing flashy about these guys.

Then I found a radio station promo copy that came inside this pop up junkyard. I was at a show in the 80's were they co headlined with another under rated band ( Dangerous Toys). I wore it to a frazle.

Its all about the music. This is great stuff. Its basically blues rock mixed with punk and southern rock.

My friends and I were privledged to see one of those shows were every thing was in line and the bands were just in rare form. David Roach is a frontman in the same vain as Tyler.Best tracks "Hollywood""Blooze""hands off"

The song "Hands Off", could possibly be the coolest break up song ever made. Great debut album from one hell of a blues rock band.

I had worn out my cassette of this and was happy to find it here on disc. I really dig Hands Off. Best song on the release.
